Creating A New Web SIte from Existing Web Site

I created an e-newsletter/Web site in FP 2003. I now want to do the next
issue, so I need to save my basic formatting from the first issue and create
a new Web site. How do I do that and take all my "sub folders" with it? How
can I delete the items from the old newsletter (e.g. photos) without wrecking
the format links (e.g. page borders, font styles) to my new Web
site/newsletter? I keep wanting to do a basic "save as" as with Word, but
know you have all those sub folders with FrontPage. I'm extremely new to the
software -- the first issue was my first experience with it.

Thanks!

Then, I can't imagine why you're creating a whole new web to create a new
edition of your newsletter. I would just copy the page of my old newsletter.
However, if you believe that's what you really want to do--create a whole
new web--then use Windows Explorer to copy the folder; don't try to use
FrontPage.

I did that (copied via Windows Explorer), but the "threads" from the old
newsletter issue still are there -- extra photos in the images folder that
are no longer being used, etc. The newsletter has "read more" pages --
additional layers to the main page, so I figured creating a new Web was the
best way. Plus, I want to keep a copy of the old issue. As it is now, when I
change things in the new issue -- even though the file is renamed -- it's
altering the old. I want to keep the old, but start a new one that doesn't
have the threads from the previous newsletter, but keeps the customized
format -- headers, side border, etc. Thanks!

I see.... then, I think if it were me, I'd copy the folder, clean everything
out so it's only got my one blank newsletter, and save that folder as
"Template". While FrontPage has a Save As to a template, I'm not sure that's
what I'd do. I would just save the whole folder. I imagine your newsletter
has, for instance, some kind of logo or graphic elements you use in
ANY/EVERY issue... so you wouldn't want to trash those...

I wouldn't bother with the new web each time. I'd just create a blank
template page with the basic layout of the newsletter, so you have a fresh,
blank copy for each issue of your news letter. Then you fill in the content
and File/Save As and give it a new filename (using whatever naming
convention you ahere to)....

The previous issues will not be touched, and you'll still have the blank
template for the next issue.
