I am going to assume you are not using Microsoft Access to open
Coreldraw so

Sorry. This is a newsgroup dedicated to questions about Access, the
database program in Office Professional. It appears your question may not
be related to these subjects. The Microsoft help system is not all that
clear and may have misdirected you here.

It is best to ask your questions in a newsgroup dedicated to the
subject of your question. You should find people better able to address
your problem there.

Note: It is always best to indicate the name and version of any
program(s) you may be using when asking a question and also indicate the
operating system (like Windows XP or 98) when you ask a question.

Search Corel Knowledge Base

See:

http://support.corel.com/

Type DOM Document in search you will find your answer.

Essentially you need to re-register msxml4.dll, see below:

  • Click on Start -> Run
  • Enter: regsvr32 /u msxml4.dll (this command line de-registers MSXML4.DLL)
  • Now enter: regsvr32 msxml4.dll (DLL is re-registered)
  • You should now be able to run CorelDRAW

I was able to "de-register" it using the "regsvr32 /u msxml4.dll" command.

However when I tried to re-register it using "regsvr32 msxml4.dll" it gives me an error message saying:

"The module 'msxml4.dll' was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005. For more information about this problem, search online using the error code as a search term."

I'm going to do a search for that and see if I get anything.

Unfortunately I'm using Windows Vista.... if that means anything. I've been using CDx3 for almost a year with no problems. I don't know what I did to cause this problem. I was using it the other day just fine.

I FOUND A SOLUTION!!

In my previous post I tried the regsvr32 method. I was able to "un-register" it but was unable to re-register it. Finally I found a solution.

It seems a lot of people encountered this problem after uninstalling Norton Antivirus. You can find a fix for this by doing this:

1) Go to the MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 2 page (it's from the Microsoft web site so it's safe).

2) Scroll down about half way and click the "Download" button for "msxml.msi".

This is a Microsoft Installer. It's only about 5mb so it won't take long. After it downloads just open it up and run it selecting "Install".

When it's done and you click finish nothing else will happen, but that "msxml4.dll" file will be repaired.

Immediately after doing this I tried to open my CorelDraw X3 again and it worked. If you're having this problem and haven't found a fix yet please give it a shot! It'll only take you a couple minutes.

Good luck!

Hi - I've had the same problem. I tried the regsvr32 method, I also tried the msxml.msi, and that doesn't do anything - i still get the same error.

Can anyone suggest anything else as I am running out of options!

Thanks,
Daniel
