Copying Conditional Formatting

C

Cindy

I have two columns that should have the same number in
the same row. ie: a1 should equal a2; b1 should equal
b2 etc.

I have b1 as a conditional format to be bold and red if
it does not equal a1. I would like to copy this to other
cells but the conditional formatting seems to lock the
cell you refer to. ie: $A$1.

What I would like it to do, is when I copy the cell is to
change a1 to a2 etc., like a normal copy comand.

Is there a way to do this? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Cindy,

Simply edit the conditional format formula by taking out the '$' symbols.
That makes the formula relative, and when the format is copied to a new
cell, the references will update.

Cheers
