copy chart formatting and chart templates in Excel 2007

In older Versions of Excel it was possible to transfer the formatting from
one chart to another with copy/paste special formats. This doesn't work in
excel 2007. Excel 2007 has the option of saving chart templates to multiply
user defined formats. But this templates don't save many formatting
elements (colors, data label option etc.). This is extremly annoying.

Where can I find a documentation that lists all the Elements that are saved
in a cltx template? Is there any possibility to come close to the old
behavior? Is there anything changed in Excel 2010?

Copy - Paste Special Format does in fact work with Excel 2007. What are
the steps you are trying to follow?

In my (German) Version (SP2 ) on Win 7/64 Paste Special (Inhalte einfügen)
doesn't. work. My boss also has Win 7/64 + Excel 2007 and it doesn't work
either. The Item on the Ribbon is not grayed out, but it simply does nothing
with charts.
After your posting I tried it on my Vista/32 bit Notebook and my Win 7/32
Netbook. It works on both. So it seems to be a Win/x64 issue.

Thank you for your help.

It is no 64 bit problem.

Copy/Paste Special works with standard charts, but it doesn't work with
pivot charts (which I tried to use). User defined templates work partially
with pivot charts.

Yes, pivot charts are "special", and sometimes follow their own rules.
