copies of access database files are locked

Recently, when i make a copy of of an access .mdb file, I
can't open the copy. I get an error message that says
the 'microsoft jet database engine can not open the file.
It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you
need permission to view its data' This did not happen
before - what is different? when i am trying this, the
file is not opened exclusively by anyone else, and i
beleive i should have permission to open anything...what
am i doing wrong?

Hi,

I would check and see if the associated LDB file was still in existance. If
it is, then try and delete it, if you cant delete it, then there is a
chance that the database itself might be corrupt. If so, then I would have
to recommend restoring a backup if you have one.
