BTW, I just noticed a couple of stories I hadn't taken note of before,
which could be related to this. It's possible that Intel is working on a
new revision of its Conroe chipsets due to some problems that were
noticed when running in RAID5 mode.

It's even turned up that the US government has rejected Woodcrest for
problems when running in RAID mode. Woodcrest was rejected early on in a
test that was supposed to last for 4 months. So the same problem occurs
whether we're talking about Conroe or Woodcrest.

being rejected in the first round of trials. The reason was that there
were severe problems when Woodcrest was paired with a 1E RAID field when

benchmarking, it was the every-day usage model that produced unexpected
