connectivity to Internet slowed to crawl

Once i loaded MS-AntiSpyWare, i found that my
connectivity to get to internet slowed down to 18 seconds
as opposed to 3 seconds. Can anyone suggest what is wrong
and how to fix?

Which firewall is running on the system ? Is it free of malware ?
