Connection to bank "hold down Ctrl key"

Recently have some new banking software for commercial acces, following
change of bank. However, logging on and maintaining access is a pain.

Previously, logging in to the other bank's site was fine, with good
security, site certificate, etc. The new one is inconsistent. To log in we
need to hold down the Ctrl key, just to display the login screen. Once logged
in, staying on the site is inconsistent - sometimes it works, sometimes it
doesn't.

PC is XP Pro, running via Small Business Server 2003. Internet connection
is fine across the company and on this PC, apart from the bank. Pop-up
blocker has been tried switched off; settings has 'Check for newer versions
of stored pages' has 'Automatically' ticked.

Does anyone have any ideas, please?

Besides the popup blocker that you switched off, turn off any added
toolbars. Many of them block popups.
