Complicated chart, not sure how to finish it!

I recently created a chart in Excel 03 which is a combination of a very
formatted line chart, and two bar charts. Picture of the chart is here:

To explain whats going on, the user can add in "Milestones" for whatever
date they want, and the milestone will be refelected on the chart at whatever
date they specified. The start and end dates are for the yellow background
bars, which is representative of the duration of the task in question. This
can be updated as time passes.
I've also been asked to add functionality that I'm not sure is possible. I
suppose it is, but I'm having difficulty figuring it out.
As each milestone is added, they also need a description to go along with
them on the chart, and I need this to be added through the spreadsheet. For
example, the spreadsheet would read that Company A (Row 2), Milestone
1(Column 3) is described as (whatever). The CHART would then update to have
a description right next to the milestone in question reading (whatever.)
These all need to update in the correct places to go along with the correct
dates, and if the milestones are changed/if there are milestones added, then
a description can be typed on the speadsheet and seen updated on the chart.
The other functionality requested was that the milestones change color. For
instance, say on the spreadsheet I want a milestone on 6/11/08 to be red. I
would type something like "red" (or a value or.. anything possible) on the
spreadsheet, and the chart would then show a red milestone on that date.

..... I think this might be easier if I didnt have such a complicated chart
of begin with, but as of right now I'm getting pretty desperate!

If anyone can help please respond, thanks in advance!

Hi,

Does the solution I posted in your thread at Excelforum not help?

Cheers
