Comment Balloons--Vary or change colors

It comes up nowhere in the search, under the most common keywords. How do
you vary or change the color of the comment balloons?

Microsoft, if you didn't repeatedly make instructions so difficult to find,
these boards wouldn't be so full of people desperately needing help.
Searching under "comment balloons," "balloon colors," and "format balloons"
should have produced results.

You don't say what version of Word you're using or in what way you want to
change them, but here's some information:

1. In Word 2002 or 2003, go to Tools | Options | Track Changes and select a
specific color for comments or set them to "By Author."

2. In Word 2007, in the Tracking group on the Review tab, click the arrow
beside Track Changes and choose Change Tracking Options. In the Track
Changes Options dialog, choose a color for comments.

3. When you change the color setting, you change the color of all existing
comments. If you want to change comment colors for a single author/reviewer
(that is, leave existing comments the same color and make new comments in a
different color), you have to set the color to "By Author" and then change
"authors" by changing your user name slightly. Do this at Tools | Options |
User Information in Word 2002/2003 or at Office Button | Word Options |
Popular in Word 2007.
