I need Column E cell contents added into Column D cell contents (no
overwriting the data in each cell but mixing the data in the cells).
However, there is a clause. If the data in Column E is a room numbe
(these are my rooms numbers N408 N409 M100 ) then I want the cel
contents copied into Column F (not overwriting the contents of Column
just adding the room number text into whatever text is already in Colum
F).

All the cells have plain text. So not to worry with trying to cop
formulas.

Here is the skinny. I have three columns that need to be turned int
two columns. The first column (D) has a bunch of titles in it. Th
second column (E) has a mix of titles and room numbers. The thir
column (F) has all room numbers.

I need to take the second column (E) and distribute the contents int
the the first and third column without overwriting what already there.

Here is an example of what I have:

Column D Column E Column F

Happiness N408 M100
Joy Alfredo Books N409
Wonderful N409 N408
Glad Ballons
Work Day M100
Gonna stay N408 N409

Here is an example of what I need:

Column D Column E Column F

Happiness N408 M100
Joy Alfredo Books N409
Wonderful N409 N408
Glad Ballons M100
Work Day M100
Gonna stay N408 N409

I attached an excel document that might show up better than my tex
example above. I hope this explains what I am trying to do. If i
doesn't please let me know. Thanks

Hi
how are your room numbers identified. e.g. how do you now they are not
part of the title?

Thanks for your response.

The titles I have will always be in a seperate cell than the roo
numbers. So there shouldn't be any one cell with a title and a roo
number.

I have a set number of rooms to keep track of. I was hoping to use
list of rooms as a criteria. So that when the cell is deciding wher
to cut and paste it's contents, it will look at the list of differen
room numbers and then decide whether or not to put the contents i
Column D (titles) or F (room numbers).

If the text doesn't contain any of the room numbers in the list (N40
or N409 or M100) then the text would be added to Column D. By adding
mean it won't be overwritting anything that is already in Column D.

So if Column D has "DOG" and Column E has "CAT" then the result woul
be Column D having "DOG CAT" and Column E would be empty
