Co existence of SQL 2000 and SQL Express 2005

Hi,

My access always hangs after having Visual Basic Express 2005 install. It
appear to have conflict between the two SQL version. The SQL 2000 service
won't start. Anyone have solved this problem before?

The only machine that had given me a problem when installing SQL-Server 2005
was a machine for which the Beta version of SQL-Server 2005 had been
installed. The uninstall procedure didn't work and I'd have to reinstall a
previous backup on it before going with the installation of SQL-Server 2005.
I had no problem installing it on other machines, even those with SQL-Server
2000 on them. This was with the standard version of SQL-Server 2005 but I
don't remember seeing any problem with the Express version.

Did you have any Beta softwares (either Visual Studio 2005 or SQL-Server
2005) installed on it before and did you install SQL-Server 2005 after
SQL-Server 2000?

What's happens if you stop the SQL 2005 service before trying to start SQL
2000?

Finally, what's your real problem: Access hanging or SQL 2000 service not
starting?
