CMD prompt in Recovery Console

How can I run spuninst.exe in the recovery console? When I
type spuninst.exe (ENTER) it says the command is not
recognized. I am in the spuninst directory. I understand I
am limited to Help Commands but I cannot get to a normal
command prompt as I am stuck at boot up on Preparing
Network Connections after installing SP1.

You can't uninstall the service pack from the recovery console.

You can start an un-install from the Recovery Console for more recent
SPs on some OSs. I dont have a list, but W2K SP4 can be.

From the RC navigate to

%systemroot%$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst\
and issue
BATCH SPUNINST.BAT

This is intended only for systems that are not bootable after SP
apply.
This does not actually "un-install" the whole SP, but rather un-
installs (rolls back files) enough to get bootable again (possibly in
Safe Mode). Thereafter you must still do Add/Remove to _really_ un-
install the SP.

Dave, I'm sure you'd be interested in viewing that file which does
nothing but DEL and COPY a slew of files in an effort to get
bootable. It does nothing for registry changes made during SP
installation.

I am sorry I have no KBA pointer on this.
