Is it possible to change background color and font size in chm files? My
eyes get tired very fast reading information on the white screen. My friend
gave me isstorage.exe that sliced this help file into many files and in one
of them i could change the background color and font size. Everyyhing wood be
grate, but all the help information is divided into many parts and it is hard
to go through the information. I tried to open this chm file in notepad and
find there words like font or background, but they wasnt there.
Is there some other way?

Thank you.. I downloaded trial version and it extracted this file as the
..exe did.. I didnt find a how i can convert it to html... maybe because of
the trial version..

Is ther easier way to change the font size and background color? For exampe
opening it with another program and doing something and then opening it
simply d-clicking it?

Hi, I'm not sure I remember the exact steps... but it is possible.

1) Open Internet Explorer. (I'm using v8)
2) under menu=view, there is the option of selecting text size... but not really a font size.
3) so instead, try going to menu=tools>internet options (available under control panel too?)
4) under the default "general" tab, there should be 3 buttons, "colors", "fonts", and "accessibility"...
a) color does what you expect...
b) fonts do what you expect...
c) accessibility is that which FORCES the changes to apply EVERYWHERE... even your .chm (help) file... but also all your internet explorer webpages (thus losing their backgrounds)... But if you use another browser like Firefox, this will not be a problem.

Additional Problems with this method:

I can now NOT get "Highlight search terms" option in a .chm help file to work. Disable accessibility FORCE option (ie, revert to white background and former font size), and now you can see highlighted search terms again, but reinstate your desired settings, and no... so...

HOW do you enable Search Highlighting at the same time? Otherwise, this method works almost perfectly for me.
