Hi all,

Innocent Drinks have spear headed a campaign to reduce VAT to 5% on their Smoothies.
(Plus all other fruit/veg based drinks).
I have, personally, validated this with them.

Please visit http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/fruitjuiceVAT/ and add your vote!

If you agree with them and me, please sign the petition.
If not, Apologies - Please disregard!

Cheers!

Hmmm, OK, it ain't hard to confuse me but ... I thought "food" was zero VAT rated ?

I know that "heated" food is chargeable to VAT ... meals in restaurants or cafes and hot take-away food and hot drinks ... but ain't a 'smoothie' a cold drink ?

Or is it just a marketing ploy ?

Hell, the simple answer is to buy a big hammer and smash up your own fruit. ;)

I thought i read somewhere that blending fruit actually made them less beneficial  , will have to look. I personally prefer eating them whole . ;)
