Changes to Export Spec not saved in Access 2000

I'm having the problem that occassionaly changes made to
export specifications do not save. More specifically, I'm
trying to change the separator in a text export from one
of the standards to . For some reason this does not save
when hitting the "Save as" button. The same separator is
used in two other specs, so it is possible.

Having read:
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 271798
ACC2000: Changes to Import/Export Specification Are Not
Saved
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;271798&Product=acc

I tried to not save the spec but run the wizard through to
be prompted to save the export spec changes, as suggested
in above article. This however did not save the change
either.

Even creating a brand new spec, this separator is not
saved.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get the change mentioned
saved? Upgrading Access is not an option as certain
queries in the database, for some reason, cause Access
2002 to crash without warning. Is it possible to somehow
go behind the scenes and do the changes directly to the
spec?

Yes, you can use an update query on the MSys Spec
table. (You can't do that to most MSys tables).

Thanx. That did the trick. Access still, in it's export
window and the export spec, shows "," as separator, but
the file arrives with correct separator.
