Change Default Burner

I recently purchased a new external dvd burner. However it is not my default
burner, which I need to make it in order to burn dvd's using it. How and
where do i change my default burner?

Which DVD burning software are you using? Does it not have an option to
specify a default drive, or does is not retain the last used drive
letter for the next use?
