Hi all ,
I am new to this forum , and would appreciate your help.
The problem is that when putting a cell phone on the power supply unit , and the phone rings , the pc restarts by itself.
This problem also occurred when putting the cell phone on the laptop.
I have searched all the internet and apparently no one has had this problem before.
I know that the solution is to put the cell phone away , but i need to know if its a common problem or a defective hardware.

Thanks

Hi,

Welcome to the fourms

I don't see the reason why you need to put a cell phone on a PSU or laptop. Cant you just put it at the side of the pc or PSU?

This happens on a PC and a laptop? I would have thought a good PSU would have plenty of shielding against EM interference.

Which mobile phone is this?

A long shot but your PC may be seeing the incoming phone signal as a wireless network signal.

Have a look in the Bios and make sure the 'Wake up on LAN' option or similar is turned off.
