Can't view gridlines...going crazy!

I have had this problem off and on with Excel. I am unable to view gridlines even though the box is checked in Tools>Menus. They will also print if checked in print options, but will not appear in print preview. Does anyone know why they won't appear? I feel like I've been through every menu (and to every FAQ sheet I can find), and it's driving me crazy

Thanks for your help!

select the cells you are working with, and then right click on them an
select FORMAT CELLS, click on the BORDER TAB, and add the broders yo
need.

You could also use the Toolbar, there is a button on there for BORDERS
which has a drop down menu beside it. It works well, but has limite
options. If you need something specific the first way is the best way

Gridlines and borders are not the same thing. He's not able to see the
gridlines.

1. I tried the tools menu. Selected to view gridlines and they still didn't appear
2. I have used the borders so that I can view gridlines, which is helpful

I'm trying to figure out if there is somewhere else in the menus I need to click (or unclick) a box, or if, heaven forbid, there is a problem with the workbook I am using.

Thanks so much for your suggestions...I think I may just have to select all and move it to a new workbook. Hopefully the worksheets won't take the problem with them

So you said. But there is another option for the COLOR of the gridlines.
If white were selected it would be hard to see them<g>.

I tried the color thing too...it was initially set for "Automatic" which appeared to be black, but just in case I tried black, red, and blue to no avail. Then I tried selecting white then selecting black to see if that would help (don't know why it would, but at this point I'll try anything)

Using the borders has helped because at least then I can see the grid. I just have to remember not to print them

Perhaps it's a strange hiccup in this particular workbook. It has happened to me before, but not regularly...weird, eh

Tools Options Color Reset did not work. Must be something weird with this workbook. It didn't follow to the new workbook I pasted the data into...total mystery. Thanks for all your suggestions, though.

Yes, borders are not gridlines...but I was despirate to see the grid, so I used borders...then I was irritated that I was jerryrigging it. Thus the "copy all" and paste solution.

*Gasp* I just did the format cells, no color and THAT WAS IT!!!! Thank you for the fresh idea! Fabulous!

Glad you found the solution to the problem

I understand the desperate decision to do something to get close to what you
needed, have done that myself.
