Can't share Shared Docs, can share another folder

P

Peter Strauss

My desktop machine can access Shared Docs on my laptop, both running
XP Home. I get the following message when trying to access Shared
Docs on the desktop from the laptop:

It reads:
"\\Desktop\shareddocs is not accessible. You might not have permission
to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server
to find out if you have access permission. Access is denied."
Interestingly, I created another folder with a different name on the
desktop, and have no problem accessing that one from the laptop.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why I'm locked out of one and not the
other? The sharing profiles are identical for the two.

Further info: the laptop accesses the network via a wireless access
point which is connected via LAN cable to my hardwired router; the
desktop is connected via LAN cable to the router.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Something's wrong with the sharing settings for the Shared Documents
folder. Un-share it, then re-share it and try accessing it again.
