Can't open pdf attachments within Outlook 2003

After upgrading to Outlook 2003, I am no longer able to open pdf attachments
from within Outlook (I get a message saying "Application not found", though I
do have Acrobat on my computer, which is running Windows XP). Is there a way
to fix this?

Reinstalling Acrobat won't be easy; our IT dept. keeps all the disks under
lock and key. Is there no other way to tell Outlook where to find Acrobat?

Start>Control Panel>Appearance and Themes>Folder Options>File Types. Locate
the .pdf file type and correct the file association.
