Can't open .htm files

One of our users has received 2 .htm files in Outlook that can't be opened.
When he double-clicks on them, Internet Explorer opens but all you see is
an X in a square.

I can't open them on my PC either. I have Internet Explorer Version
6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519.

I have a lot of .htm files on my PC and they open just fine.

What might be causing this?

Thanks,

Sandy

Sandy, the most likely explanation is that there is a link in the files to a
graphic (.jpg or .gif) image that simply didn't get sent with them.

When you get one open try going up to the "view" menu item, click it and
select view source...

If you see something vaguely like <img>c:\mydocuments\my
pictures\picture.jpg</img> the sender has probably linked to a picture
that's on his own machine but naturally isn't there on yours! If there's
nothing else in the .htm file all you would see is what's called a
"Placeholder" for the non existent picture.

There might be another explanation (or two) but this the first one that
sprang to mind here :)

Hi Sandy :)

Check the extension on the attachment, and be sure that it is associated
with a program that you have installed. It not, save it to the hard drive
and then change the extension to a program that you hve installed and see if
you can open it.
