Cant open database. Error: "could not find the object 'databases'

Martin

Hi, anybody can help me?

I can not open my database at all anymore. Error message is: "The
Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object 'Databases'.
Compact and repair also does not work.

Yesterday, everything still worked; today, it doesn't anymore. I use
MS Access 2003.

Thanks a lot.

Hope you have a backup... your database is corrupt, possibly irretrievably.
This error can happen when the VBA project file is corrupted, or from damaged
system tables.

What you can try is creating a new, empty database and using File... Get
External Data... Import to import whatever can ba salvaged from your damaged
database.

Tony Toews has a good corruption FAQ at
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm
which includes links to third-party services which can sometimes salvage
databases (for a fee).
