can't have more than one IE window open at once

IEHelp!

I'm having a very frustrating problem with IE and it just
started happening today. If I have one IE window open and
I try to open a new one or try to open a link in a new
window it closes the existing window and a new one opens.
What's going on here and how can I fix it?

I've done a virus scan and I've redownloaded IE 6 and
restarted but no luck.

Any help would be appreciated!
