Can't enter address using Insert Address button in Envelopes & Lab

I recently had to re-install Word 2000 and since I haven't been able to enter
an address using electronic address book by click on the Insert Address
button. Instead, I get a dialogue box which says:
"Logon failed. You must log on to Microsoft Exchange to access your Address
Book. Error Code "Unspecified Error"".
I never had this problem before. I have XPsp2, OE6, IE6, and all are up to
date.
Anyone help?

Thanks, but after referring to an earlier post on subject, I fixed the
problem by installing Outlook with Word 2000.
