Can't connec t to the internet for updates

I just installed the software and ran initial scan with no
threats. However, when I attempted to get updates, it
replied cannot connect to internet. I noticed others with
same problem, any answers?

I was receiving updates just fine until after I installed CounterSpy, then
I started getting the internet connection error messages. Many people have
reported this, and I think the only workaround at this point is to uninstall
CounterSpy.
Also, if you don't have CounterSpy installed, someone posted that you should
make sure "Work Offline" from the File menu in Internet Explorer is not
checked.
