This is a windows 2000 small business server, when accessing "my computer"
only shows an hourglass and no drives, it is ok straight after a reboot but
only for a few minutes, tweakui is not installed and no policies have been
set to hide drives. Veritas and REV drive also failing to do the backups but
have Acronis image of the entire server, has Trend micro anti-virus not
finding any virii?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hiya

Even though Trend's not found anything, lets take a look at a log. Go to
http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to
your reply.

It will possibly show other issues deserving our attention, but most of what
it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.
