Cannot install new Defender.

When I try to Install the new Windows Defender the program cannot seem to
find the "WindowsDefender.msi" file even when I direct it to the proper
folder. The pop up that comes up says "The feature you are trying to use is
on a network resource that is unavailable." The same applies to when I try
to remove the OLD defender from the computer via Add/Remove Programs. Any
ideas so I can get the new defender up and running? This has really stumped
me.

(I've run malware and anti-virus, E-trust Pest Patrol and AVG.)
