Cannot find name in address book -> Name order search

J

Joe

I am using outlook with the Exchange server. My
company's address book is sorted by Last Name, First
name. I used to be able to type John Doe in the To:
field and it will find Doe, John. Now, Outlook cannot
find the name if I type John Doe. I have to go and type
Doe, John to do it. Is there a setting that can enable
this?

thanks

You didn't provide much information.
What happened between "used to" and "now?"
What Outlook/Exchange versions?

I made several changes at the same time..
1. Went from Outlook XP to Outlook 2003. I think this
didn't break it.
2. Got transferred to a new exchange server (with a new
address book).

thanks

Have you made sure you set the sort order correctly for the Outlook Address
Book correctly? Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing
directories or address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your
sort order there

I won't be able to troubleshoot anything on the Exchange end of things. If
your Exchange version changed, be sure to post that information to an
Exchange group.
