Cannot delete folder, access denied - chkdsk & del didn't work

I have a folder called Folder with three subfolders in it "dxu", "cpu",
"vst", they originated from an unzipping process. My antivirus, before
unzipping, noticed no viruses.
The three subfolderd cannot be accessed; if I call property from the
folder
Folder it says there are 0 (zero) bytes.
I can move Folder, can rename it, but I cannot delete it or move to the
wastebin.

I tried running in safemode, running the DOS shell and running the
Safemode
DOS (I know it is not the correct term, it is when you press F8 and choose
the line commands option. In DOS I used the commands: delete, erase,
remove
with the flags /s/f and similar, but it says: "access denied".

Once it happened to me something similar, but I managed to delete the
unwanted folder by deleting it immediately after rebooting, just as soon
as
the computer was redy to take commands, and I did it under the windows
shell; this time I cannot delete it.

I use windows xp home edition.

I tried to look for answers on the Internet, but with no success so far, I
hope someone knows if this problem can be solved.
I believe part of the problem is that the folder is "0 byte", but I am not
sure.

PS: I use win xp in Italian, tried to translate to my best the tecnical
terms, I hope that if they are not correct at least they are reasonably
understandable.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi,

You need to take ownership of them. Right-click the folder, select
properties. Go to the security tab and click advanced. You can take control
of the folders on the owner tab. For the security tab to appear in a WinXP
Pro system, you must disable simple file sharing in the control panel/folder
options/view tab. For a WinXP Home system, you must restart in safe mode and
logon as administrator. More details here:

Thank you very much... at last, after a lot of searching, browsing and
asking... I deleted those folders.

Ciao
