Cannot Copy EXE File to Startup Folder

I

ITAnnaJones

When trying to unzip a file that contains an .exe file that needs to
extract to a startup folder (not the windows startup folder) I get an
access denied message. Even if I manually create a startup folder on my
local hard disk (I am an administrator) and try and copy an .exe there,
I also receive an access denied message. I don't have any viruses or
spyware on my system. I turned off simple file sharing and that did not
make a difference. Thanks in advance for any assistance regarding this.

Try copying some files other than .exe files there.

I am running into this also... i can copy any old text file in there
but still can't copy exe. I am admin on the machine, and i have even
made a copy of the exe and tried to put that in there as well but still
no go. I have also tried to xcopy it over to that area and you guessed
it, it didn't work. Thanks for any help from any one in advance...

With windows explorer drill down to user>startmenu>programs>
startup---file>new>shortcut---drill down to the exe you want to
startup at boot.
