Can you directory Computer Objects to be created in a OU
you specify?

I figuring if you can it's a ADSI Edit thing or a Group
Policy, but just keep running into a wall figuring this
out.

I am asking because I'm wanting to have all computers
joined to the domain to dump into an OU and not the
default "computer" folder in AD. That way I can put Group
Policies on that OU and not spam the who domain with the
computer configurations policies. I just makes more sense
to me :)

Thanks

Windows 2000 does not have a simple way of doing this although there are a
couple of nifty looking utilities in Server 2003 that can do this. The
simple, if dull, solution is to move your computers to the correct OU after
joining them to the domain.

I found one way you can accomplish this!

If you are using RIS to install the Client computer there
is an option in AD on the RIS tab under properties of the
RIS server that lets you specify where to create the
computer object! You can have it added where the user
object is that is used to start the RIS process or select
where to create all of them.

I just thought of it and Whamo there it is :)
