Can receive emails but cannot send in Outlook 2003

My outbound emails get stuck in my outbox. I receive emails from my Yahoo!
account. Under email accounts, The "Test Account Settings..." button sends a
test message out successfully and it lands in my Inbox.

The outgoing server is set to smtp.mail.yahoo.com and the outgoing port
number is 465 and is encrypted. The outgoing server uses the same settings
as the incoming. How do I get them sent from my outbox?

I've had the same problem, sometimes the mail will send and sometimes it
won't, and this is disturbing. Also, Outlook loads very slowly and this is
not good either.

After using Office 2007 for awhile, it looks ok but Outlook is horrible.

Also, unless the other person has Office 2007 they won't be able to open up
attachments unless one saves them in Office 2003 format, so why Office 2007.

I finally removed Office 2007 from my computer and reloaded Office 2003 and,
no more problems in Outlook nor in the formats.

I'm a power user and either the software is friendly and works efficently
the first time or it is history.

Are there any error messages and/or numbers when you try to send?
Usually you must use the smtp server of your ISP.

No error messages, nothing, just won't send sometimes. Like I stated,
sometimes the mail will send and sometimes it won't and I don't have the time
to baby it.

Absolutely no problem in Outlook 2003, very reliable.
