can I view an old publisher document in word?

I have some old documents on floppy disk that were created with various
versions of publisher. Does any one know how I can view the text from these
documents?

Only a Publisher program will open them.

Sorry, Word cannot open Publisher files. You will probably have to get
Publisher to open the files. The good news is that you can get a free trial
version of Publisher 2003 at
http://www.microsoft.com/Office/publisher/prodinfo/trial.mspx. It should
work long enough for you to open your Publisher files and copy their contents
to Word if that's what you want to do. Publisher 2003 opens files created in
Publisher 2.0 or later.
