Can I rename an NT4 PDC?

Hi,

If I put a new Win2k member server on-line with the same name as an old
NT4 PDC, is it possible to keep the old NT4 box on-line but with a
different name (e.g. \\old_server).

The old PDC's domain is not being used, it only exists because I can't
demote it to a member server in our big new AD domain. It's basically a
"stand alone" file server.

The main purpose of this is to be able to get to stuff on the old server
in an emergency. I probably won't ever need to do this, but you never know!

Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for.

This article also answers an old question I had about the "old" name
still being in server manager.
