Can I move all my Outlook 2007 files and settings back to Outlook

I have been struggling with clashes between Office 2007 and 2003 over the
last 6 weeks and have decided to drop out of the Beta for a quiet life. (The
last straw is having received a set up auto-updates, Outlook has been crushed
again and I am not going to recover it yet again!!! - well I will once more
just to try to get the Messages, Folders, Contacts etc. out of it).

However is there any way of moving the files and setting back to Outlook
2003 without saving them as several files and then importing them into 2003?
I think I have lost 2003 as Outlook 2007 does not like to co-exist with 2003,
so I canoot open 2003 to see what importation options it has, but logically
it cannot have a wizard for 2007!!

Your .pst files that hold the data should transfer without problems and without importing. Just open the files with the File | Open | Outlook Data File command in OL2003.

Many thanks Sue.

I am sure your instructions would work. In fact after a few days following
my posting, I went back to OL 2003. As I had seen on the discussion group
elsewhere, I got a meaage that MAPI32.DLL was incompatible. I was advised by
Microsoft Support of a fix which I will repeat here but I guess you will be
familiar with this:

Rename the MSMAPI Folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files\System Rename the
file mapi32.dll in C:\Windows\System32 Than repair Office 2003 by clicking on
the Help menu in any Office 2003 application and than select Detect & Repair.

Once I started OL 2003 selecting an option to recover my settings etc. to my
great surprise (but not to you of course!) and relief, it activated all my OL
2007 messages etc.

Ian, Do you know if it's possible to save 2007 as 2003 as with the other apps
like Excel, Word etc? I have installed my licensed version of Outlook 2003
and removed 2007 which came bundled with my new laptop. I make extensive use
of a PDA and constantly need to synch files between the 2 not to mention my
new mobile phone! I am currently having problems opening 2003 app files on
my PDA

All pst-files created in Outlook 2007 are backwards compatible with Outlook
2003.

I also have issues with 2007. I have retroinstalled 2003 so I can synch with
my PDA which doesnt' synch with 2007 yet. I have recently had to repair my
installation of 2003 and now I keep seeing a message about MS Office Pro
Hybrid 2007 - is this compromising my 2003 data or pst files in anyway?
