Can' get in...The procedure entry point associsdangerous could not be located?

Rowley

When the PC boots it gets past the xp splash and then
this message appears "The procedure entry
associsdangerous could not be located in the dynamic link
library SHLWAPI.DLL" I hit OK, and the next message
is "logon user interface DLL MSGINA.DLL failed to load.
Restore the original DLL." Then the machine reboots, this
happens even if I try to go into safe mode. This
occurred after updated from Microsoft's page. Any
ideas???

Hi Rowley,

Expand the corrupted or missing files from the CD-ROM:
1. Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Shutdown and restart your computer.
3. Boot the CD-ROM, pressing R on the Welcome screen, or start the Recovery
Console from the menu.
4. Select the Windows XP instance that you wish to access and enter the
Administrator's password.
5. Type: expand <CD-ROM Drive Letter>\I386\shlwapi.dl_ <Windows Drive
Letter>\<Windows Folder>\System32
6. Type Exit.
7. Restart Windows XP.

Also, copy the msgina.dll to C:\Windows\system32 folder.
