Can browse with cable, but not with wireless?

Paulus

My computer with a wireless connection running windows me can connect to my
wireless access point and see my other networked computers. My friends
computer with a built in wireless card can see my access point, had the ip
and workgroups set to work with my netowkr but cannot access it through the
wirless access point. When I connect an ethernet cable to this computer (a
HP nx9010 running widows xp) it has no problems connecting and browsing.

Does anyone know what is (or isnt) going on?

My access point is set to infrastructure nd WEP is diabled.

If your friends computer is running WinXP try seeing if the included
firewall is running. I had the problem between WinMe and WinXP until I
disabled the firewall.

You didn't mention what type of wireless ap you are using, but I would
check to see if MAC filtering is turned on. If so, turn it off and try
again. If it works, then add his MAC Address for his wireless card to
the list and there you go!
