Can a deleted email(in inbox) be sent directly to the trash folder

I am trying to set up an email prefence in my 2003 Outlook that directly
sends deleted emails from the inbox to the trash folder (without having to
manually move it to the trash folder, or purge the emails using the edit
option).

Please let me know if you've found this shortcut?
Thanks,
Christine

You're obviously using an IMAP account. IMAP accounts simply don't have
Deleted Items or Trash folders. Many people use View>Arrange By>Current
View>Hide Messages Marked for Deletion so they don't see the messages marked
for deletion.
