Calculated field in pivot table does not summerize for average

My calculated field in a pivot table does not summarize by average. Excel
allows me to change field setting to average, and the title changes to
“Average of filed1â€, but actual calculated value is still the sum not the
average. Is this a bug in Excel?

I'm having the same issue...did you ever find an answer? It is driving me
crazy.

Anyone out there have an answer?
