"C:\documents and settings\owner" malfunction

Guest

When I try to access a file (eg pictures) to insert into a word document the
program freezes and becomes unresponsive.
Norton windoctor gets stuck midway through the analysis of "shortcut scan
C:\documents and settings\owner".
I have sent this problem to Symantec but have not had a reply.
Can anyone help me restore my PC to normal operation.
Thanks

Having Norton Systemworks on your system is anything "but" normal operation.

-- please help me. please help me. I received some pictures in an e mail
and they are saved as a Word document. I need to add some comments and then
send them off to another location. But, When I try to save them the "type"
drop down does not show "save" in any image file type ...does that make
sense. Thanks

Hi - since you have a new question, don't post it as a reply in an unrelated
thread.

Re your question - don't open the Word document directly from your e-mail
client - instead, save the doc file to your hard drive, open it in word, and
edit away. Then save it & send it to whomever you wish.

Let's see if we can clarify this. If I understand you correctly, you
received an email with an attachment. That attachment was a DOC file that
you then saved to your personal files (some place like My Documents.) The
DOC file includes some embedded images. You then opened the file did some
editing and then tried to save it as an image file. You can't do that. Those
images are embedded inside the DOC file. You can *copy* the images from Word
into some other image editing application, but since you say you added
comments, what you want to do is to continue to save the file as a DOC file.

Or did I misunderstand you?
