burning movies

I can view the mpgs that i burn on to cd on my computer
but I am unable to view them on my dvd player on my
television.
Sould i get something to convert the files ?

Michael,

If I assume you are burning the CDs using Movie Maker, the files on them are
not MPGs. They are WMVs. The CDs are only playable on computers today.

If they are MPEG then just burning them to a DVD/CD, the way you would a
bunch of word processing files, won't work. You need a DVD/CD authoring
program like Ulead DVD Movie Factory or DVD Workshop even Ulead Video Studio
does DVDs/CDs but it is more of an editor.
