Burglaries Analysis: Peak Day and Time

M

martin

Some of you guys helped me out a few months back with a query I has
about doing 24 hour peak-time analysis of burglaries. Thanks.

I now want to extend the analysis to take into day of week as well.
So, basically, I want to examine 168 hours instead of just 24.
I have 15,172 rows of data. Each row contains the following fields:
Date1, Date2, Time1, Time2, Day1, Day2

What I want to do is calculate whether a burglary was happening during
any of the 168 hours based on the start date, day and time (i.e.
date1, day1 and time1) and the end date, day and time (date2, day2,
and time2).

In the 24-hour peak time analysis there was an issue of past-midnight
burglaries (i.e. where time1 and time2 span across midnight). Now
there'll be an issue of past-midnight and past-days to contend with).

I have a spreadsheet I can send for the 24 hour peak time analysis. I
made it based on help from Andy Brown.

I have been trying to improve my understanding of formulas, but this
ones leaves me stumped!

Hi Martin -- IIRC Harlan Grove did most of the (effective) work.

Sorry I'm tied up for a while -- hope you get some help & enjoyed the
course.

Rgds,
Andy
