On certain occasions, upon logging into Windows, after 20 or 30 seconds,
Windows would 'power off' and display a BSOD with the error
"PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA", with the STOP code 0x00000050
(0XE6C23845,0X00000000,0X8052A157,0X00000002)
Looking at MS's Support, it points out the error may occur in Windows
Setup (which it didn't) and advises to replace/reinstall RAM modules.
While on the same line of BSODs, another one may come up before Windows
changes from the boot screen to the logon screen.
I can usually predict the BSOD's occurance by the logon process itself. My
system is WinXP home, and the logon screen is set to the 'classic' logon
used on domain networked systems and Windows 2000. Should this BSOD occur,
prior to it happening a 3 second delay will occur between accepting the
password and displaying the message "Loading your personal settings..."
I still have the RAM modules that came with my PC, and so far one of my
suspicions was that this problem only started upon installing Slysoft's
CloneCD. Strange...
Anyone have any further advice on this? It's annoying to keep rebooting
this system hundreds of times, and plus each time Windows XP doesn't allow
me to send the bug report (a dialog does not appear)
