BSOD and STOP C0000135 with MSVCRT.DLL Error message

I received the following error message after I upgraded to Spyware Doctor 5.0:

"STOP: C0000135 Unable to locate component This application has failed to
start becasue msvcrt.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix
this problem"

Please advise. My machine is a DELL 4600 with XP installed from DELL. I
upgraded it to SP2 about 2 years ago.

I have an XP CD from another computer (SP2 also) so it looks like I can run
the XP Repair Console as described in KB 324762.

But I seem to be confused. I have 2 questions:
1) I assume the KB I mentioned above is the correct one I shoudl follow
even though I don't have the exact same error message. Correct?

2) When I'm in the Repair Console I can't seem to find the CD drive --it's
not D or E or F etc... How do I find it so that I can copy the MSVCRT.DLL
file from the CD to the hard drive?

PLease advise.
Thanks! Tony V

MSVCRT.DLL is a standard Windows component file. Have you searched
the hard drive for it and confirmed that it is in fact not present on
your computer?

The file should be in your \Windows\System32 folder. If your system
is up to date it should be 334 kb (343,040 bytes) in size and the
version number should be 7.0.2600.2180

If you have the file in the proper place then it is the program
(Syware Doctor) that is at fault and you need to contact the authors
of that program regarding the fix. Be sure to include the version
number and file size of the MSVCRT.DLL file in your \Windows\System32
folder in the information that you give to them.

Good luck
