What is the actual filename that Norton says is infected? Probably,
Norton has already "quarantined" it, but if you get repeated detects, it
must be getting restored somehow.

You've got your Norton AntiVirus "heuristic scanning" setting on. This
feature (which is not usually turned on by default) attempts to detect
unknown viruses by using artificial intellegence techniques. You may or
may not have an actual virus. This has -- if I recall correctly -- a
"sensitivity" setting option. You may have turned it up too far.

Read the following info from Symantec, carefully:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/bloodhound.html

About halfway down the page, Symantec recommends that you send to them
any file that is detected as a "Bloodhound" virus. There is a link with
directions.Why not do it?

Finally, as Symantec recommends, download the latest virus definitions.
In this situation, use Symantec's "Intelligent Updater" (the link under
"Removal Instructions" that says "Click here to manually download and
install virus definitions ..."). Then do a full system scan. If you
really have a virus, chances are Symantec has figured it out by now and
added a real virus signature and -- if as needed by some of the nastier
new viruses -- a "removal tool" which you can use to clean up your
system.
