Backspace key hold down performance

I apparently made the mistake of holding down a shift key
for more than seven seconds and it went into some kind of
window wanting to know if I wanted to over ride this
function. I think I screwed up and checked yes. Now
when I press the backspace key it will only take one
space back per press vs. going back at will while holding
the key down. What did I do, but more importantly how do
I fix it and where/what is the pull down menu to fix it?

thanks out there for some simple guidance.

Hi Buzz,

In the Windows Control Panel, double-click the Accessibility Options item.
Uncheck the box for Use Filter Keys. Then click the Settings button next to
it, and uncheck the box for Use Shortcut so this won't happen again.
