I have an avi clip from a digital camera with some video
capability. Although it will run under Media Play, when
I insert it in a PowerPoint slide presentation, I get a
message...."No driver installed on this system. I'm
using PP 2002 and Windows XP.

this is because you are missing the proper codec for the avi file from the
camera... yah yah it plays in wmplayer.. but wmplayer is a little bit
smarter than the player powerpoint uses
It most probably is the mjpg codec you can download the codec from
http://www.morgan-multimedia.com/

however you can find what it is by going to start- run - type
mplay32
load your movie
whats does it say here... something like vids:mjpg decompressor could not
be found... mjpg is the codec.. try doing a search for mjpg and codec in
google, replace mjpg with the codec yours wants

I am having a similar problem, will play on some computers
in the office, not on others. Have updated graphics driver,
directx version and codec (uses mediaplayer9 codec) and
thoughts what else it could be?

(plays in media player on all computers, pp on some)
