autoupdater cannot detect internet connection

Hi,

When starting the autoupdater there's a message it cannot
detect an internet connection. What can be the problem ?

First of all, are you running latest version ? 1.0.615
Start MSAS > Help-About.

If not > www.microsoft.com > "Popular downloads".

Then look at this kb from MS.

What firewall is involved? If you search the help for
Microsoft Antispyware, it has some information about what
needs to be allowed out through a firewall that controls
outbound traffic.

Have you set Internet Explorer or Outlook Express to work
offline? Do you have a software or hardware firewall
that controls outbound connections?
