My new Dell notebook displayed blue screens (error message: Multiple IRP
Complete Requests, Stop: 0x00000044, "the system has recovered from a serious
error, BCCode: 44, BCP1: 899DD800, BCP2: 00000D62")
I think that this error may have occured during hibernation or standby
I did an F + 11 Symantec System Restore
Since the System Restore, I haven't received another blue screen, but the
system no longer goes into standby after a period of inactivity. I can still
put it into standby mode manually (through the start menu), but it won't
standby automatically after a period of inactivity. I've reset the settings
in Power Options repeatedly--no effect.
I flashed the BIOS but it didn't help.
The OS is XP Pro SP2, and the notebook has 2GB DDR2, 667 MHZ 2 Dimm.
Suggestions, advice? Should I exchange the notebook or does anyone know how
to resolve this?
Thanks!
